Iceland to deport Nigerian family seeking asylum

The Immigration and Asylum appeals board in Iceland has denied the appeal of Nigerian couple Sunday Iserian and Joy Lucky, and their eight year old daughter to stay in Iceland.
It's being reported that the family received the news on Monday that they were to be deported to Nigeria after living in Iceland for a year and a half.
Iserian had appealed for political asylum due to threats he received from the current government and Joy Lucky was a victim of sexual slavery while pregnant with their daughter Mary.
However, the news of the the rejection of their application met with some furore in Iceland and an online petition  was set up  for them to be able to stay in the country.
The Ombudsman for Children in Iceland had made a statement to say that they are concerned about the welfare of children seeking in asylum in Iceland.
In an earlier report,  Joy described how she was approached by a vicar at her local church back in Nigeria who promised to get her a job as a nanny in Europe.  Once she accepted the offer, which she had good faith in, she was taken to a building where her hair, and her pubic hair, was cut off and her body washed according to black magic rituals to scare her into compliance.
She was transported to Libya where she met Sunday and fell in love. Once they fled across the Mediterranean to Italy the couple lost track of each other and Joy discovered that she was pregnant.  She only found Sunday again three years later.
Sunday, on the other hand said he fled the country for political reasons and that he was afraid for his life.

IRRESPECTIVE OF NIGERIA'S DIFFERENCES WE STILL HAVE A GREAT UNITY

The differences in Nigeria notwithstanding has not put our society in a constraint. There is still evident unity progressing from all corners. Although there have been several constant cases of ethnic rivalry which had brought the fears of splitting as a nation but this fears prove to be mere talks everyday. If Nigeria was to be divided it would have happpened a long time ago, so lets be sure with the fact that we prefer to be together as a Nation and we can accommodate each ethnic flaws within.
The advocacy for ethnic equality in Nigeria is a a strong will which will come to pass someday, lets keep the hope alive as Nigeria is our country and we have no other country. Irrespective of your ethnic background we should keep in mind that we stand stronger as a nation and we can do better.

Its an unfortunate menace that several individuals wants to see the seperation of Nigeria, but this thoughts wont work and those hopes will be faded when we get to believe we can do more as a Nation together..

5 Nigerian Celebrities Who Have Unavoidably Exchanged Blows In Public

Nigerian celebrities are well-loved by people which explains why they are usually besieged by ‘strange’ fans and well-wishers whenever they step out in public places.
It is a fact that some fans can be rather unruly and overzealous whenever they meet these stars and some celebrities would not hesitate to put them in their place.
1)  Wizkid
Even with his baby face, Wizkid has a fierce temper. He was, once reported, to have thrown his drink in the face of a fan who had approached him in a London club and was also alleged to have broken a bottle on Dammy Krane’s head at Quilox night club sometime ago.
Recently, he was in the news again for slapping a guy who took pictures of him in the club.
2. Davido
Davido is known to many as one who could get violent at the slightest provocation as he has been involved in numerous altercations with members of the public. He was said to have beaten an elderly cab driver to stupor some years ago after the cabbie made the mistake of bringing one of Davido’s girlfriends to a hotel where the singer was already lodged with another girl.
Recently, he got into a fight backstage with Iceprince which allegedly led to the destruction of equipment.
3. Seyi Law
The black-skinned humour merchant is known to come fiercely at anyone who comes at him. He allegedly landed a heavy slap on a security official at the Eko Hotels and Suites after Kiss Daniels’ ‘New Era’ album launch and the security guy’s crime was telling Seyi that there was an alternative route he could take to drive out of the hotel. Seyi was said to have angrily gotten out of his car and slapped the hapless valet three times.
Seyi Law later took to his Instagram page to apologise for his unruly behavior, and also state his own side of the story.
He alleged that the security personnel was rude to him, but accepted that it wasn’t enough justification for his action.
4. Oritse Femi
Oritsefemi was reported to have engaged a bouncer Iliasu in an injurious fight at a popular club in Lagos which left both of them hospitalised.
Following the hues and cries over the incident, he has apologized to his fans, the battered bouncer, and the owner of the club where the incident occurred.

5. Olisa Adibua

Olisa is known for his hot temper which has led into fights with his co-workers. None of his workers wants to get on the bad side of Olisa.
He was recently alleged to have beating up a junior worker blue-black for having to sleep on the studio couch after his 3am duties.

ACTOR KEN OKONKWO SEEMS TO HAVE HIS EYES BIG FOR REGINA DANIELS

There is this popular saying that the young shall grow, and the same can be said for 16-year old hot sensation, Regina Daniels.
But nothing prepared the over 100k followers of Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo when he posted a question and we quote; “My daughter is all grown. Can she Play my wife now?”
While many took the question jokingly, many took to the comment section to seriously warn him not to think in that line, except the movie is about child abuse or Child Marriage.

D’banj Kept His Marriage To Didi Kilgrow A Secret For This Reason

Over a year after getting married, D’banj has finally opened up on his secret wedding to his wife, Lineo Didi Kilgrow.
Until now, Bangalee had neither confirmed nor denied being married, though, his marital status was subtly confirmed following the birth of his son, Daniel III this year.
And in his recent interview with BEAT FM, D’banj said he kept his marriage a secret because he didn’t want the complications of a celebrity relationship.
While on a Beat FM show, D’banj said;
“‘I decided to keep my marriage to Didi a secret because based on experience relationships like this get mixed with media hypes and speculations and then it becomes complicated’.
‘You know the pressure to get married was this high and mum told me she wants to see the girl I am dating and would want to marry. ‘I told her that there was this babe and we didn’t want to marry yet but she insisted that she was the one for me that we should have a small ceremony and the rest is history. I’m glad I listened to her’.”
With the constant trend of celebrity failed Marriages, most Celebs should learn from this and learn to keep their relationships from Social Media.

No wonder the people of France elected 39yr old Emmanuel Macron as President, the President of Ireland, Leo Varadkar is 38yrs old, the current Emir of Qatar is 35yrs old.
This is so because the Western world have understood the urgent need to fix the problems of the masses which must be met by young, vibrant, intelligent and decisive leaders.
They have understood that public office is not a retirement place.
We must not be left out.
At 35, there can be no doubt that I’m the perfect candidate to serve the people of Anambra as Governor.
The problems of Ndi Anambra have come to THE LAST BUS STOP!!!”

Olakunle Churchill Is Honored To Be Received By President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf In Liberia

One of Nigeria’s foremost philanthropist and young entrepreneur Dr. Olakunle Churchill was recently hosted in Liberia after an overwhelming fire safety campaign at the Federal Fire Service In Abuja and he met with the president of Liberia.

Here’s what he had to say about meeting the President and his charity foundation;
On His Meeting With President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
My  meeting with President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was an honour and a very special  moment in my life.  Liberia was a  pleasant experience, i was well hosted and celebrated by the people of the country.
I was one of  the key note speakers at the KuKatornon Peace festival with the theme ” Let’s Maintain The Peace, promoting Non-violent Elections”, because of the forthcoming general elections. I spoke along side Vice-president Joseph Boakai.
We had a peace match at the Stadium in the  capital city of Monrovia. I had  a very successful meeting with President Sirleaf and her ministers. Some of the issues we talked about is our  Agricultural Empowerment project and other philantropic issues.  One of the highlights of the trip was when the Council of Chiefs  of the Kamara community conferred me with a Chieftaincy title in a traditional  ceremony. I was truly humbled by their benevolence, and warmth.
n How He Funds Big Church Foundation

During my visit to Liberia, i was able to visit the centre for the blind where we distributed medical eye glasses and other Items to them. We also went to some less privileged homes and communities to donate food stuffs and money to support them. This is our  own little way of helping to alleviate the sad memories of the country’s  civil war crisis.
The Big Church Foundation is funded from the 10% of all the revenue from the parent company – Big Church Group. It is a pledge we made at the early stage of the company to socially impact our immediate communities and the continent as a whole.

BISHOP IN ENUGU DEFRAUDS WIDOW, OTHERS OF OVER 500M

The Police in Enugu State have arrested a bishop, Ginika Obi for allegedly defrauding members of the public of over N500 million.
The spokesperson of the police command in the state, Ebere Amaraizu, said this in a statement on Monday, August 7 in Enugu.
Mr. Amaraizu said Mr. Obi, who is in-charge of the City of Liberation and Comfort Ministry in Enugu, had been trailed by police operatives for three months.
“Bishop Ginika Obi in-charge of City of Liberation and Comfort Ministry is now helping police operatives of the Commissioner of Police Enugu Monitoring Unit following his arrest over the weekend in a Hotel in Enugu where he has been taking refuge.
“Before now, the suspect who hailed from Umuaku in Uli community of Ihiala Local Government Area in Anambra was also in-charge of an alleged financial Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) known as `Build Your Generational Organisation’ where his victims are made to invest with a hope of reaping a bumper financial dividend.
“It was gathered that his victims are numerous and with various degrees of complaints of huge amount of money swindled from them without anything to show for it.
“The suspect on noticing that police are on his trail based on complaints of alleged swindling of some suspected members of the public to the tune of N500 million with his wife and some of his eight alleged pastors, disappeared for months.
“The bishop, however, left his wife in Enugu Prisons custody over the matter.
“During his disappearance from Enugu, preliminary investigations revealed that he escaped and relocated to Asaba in Delta to avoid being nabbed by police operatives for months.
“It was further gathered that luck ran out of the suspect over the weekend as he was trailed based on intelligence information to a hotel at Amechi Road off Agbani Road in Enugu where police operatives acting on a tip-off nabbed him,’’ he said.
Mr. Amaraizu said that the bishop had also revealed during preliminary investigations that he never knew that his alleged financial NGO would “turn out in this way”.
“The suspect (bishop) disclosed that the amount he defrauded was not up to the sum of N500 million but N186 million, while regretting his action,’’ the police spokesman said.
Some of the suspect’s victims – Blessing Edekin, a widow; Nnenna Okonkwo, and Chidiebere Okolo – told the News Agency of Nigeria that the bishop had defrauded them of various sums of money and disappeared.
They expressed delight at his arrest.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Danmallam Mohammed, had directed a full-scale investigation into the alleged nefarious activities of the cleric.

President Uhuru Kenyatta: from millionaire playboy to Kenyan president

The son of Kenya’s founding president and a man who epitomises the country’s elite, Uhuru Kenyatta hopes to win a second and final five-year term in elections on August 8.The 55-year-old US-educated multi-millionaire, whose family owns an array of businesses, properties and tracts of land, followed in his father’s footsteps when he defeated his rival Raila Odinga in 2013. Kenyatta won that poll despite being indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) along with his running mate, William Ruto, for alleged roles in orchestrating violence that left over 1,100 dead after the previous election in 2007. Foreign powers, including Britain and the US, warned at the time that Kenya, under an ICC-indicted president, would be a pariah, but the threats proved empty. In 2014 the ICC dropped charges against Kenyatta — and Ruto later — citing the disappearance of witnesses and lack of evidence. Since then Kenya has welcomed President Barack Obama, British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Pope Francis and hosted a string of international gatherings and conferences. – Privilege and wealth – Kenyatta’s first term has been defined by big spending on eye-catching infrastructure and impressive economic growth in a tough climate. But this has gone hand-in-hand with spiralling debt and widening inequality.

Terrorism has also been a consistent threat during his presidency with Kenyatta being forced to address the nation in doleful terms on numerous occasions, notably after the 2013 Westgate mall attack and the 2015 Garissa university attack. The former finance minister and deputy prime minister was born in 1961, shortly after his father Jomo Kenyatta was released from nearly a decade in British jails and before becoming Kenya’s first president in 1964. His first name means “freedom” in Kiswahili. Educated at a private school in Nairobi and at Amherst College in the US, Kenyatta is regarded as a leader of the Kikuyu people, the country’s single largest ethnic group. He is married with three children and regularly attends Catholic church.

In 2011 Forbes magazine estimated Kenyatta’s wealth at $500 million (423 million euros). Despite his elite background Kenyatta has a common touch. He easily mixes it up with ordinary Kenyans, eagerly gets down on the dance floor and joshes in the local youth slang and, in his younger years, earned a persistent reputation for partying hard. A leaked 2009 US diplomatic cable described him as “bright and charming, even charismatic” but warned that “Kenyatta’s liabilities are at least as important as his strengths. He drinks too much and is not a hard worker.” – Dynastic politics – Kenyatta’s political career is a case study in pragmatism. In the 1990s, he joined with the sons of other independence heroes to call for democratic reforms but then became a close ally of autocratic former president Daniel arap Moi who had him nominated as the ruling party’s candidate for the presidency in 2002. Kenyatta lost to fellow Kikuyu politician Mwai Kibaki but then backed Kibaki’s successful re-election bid in 2007, against Odinga who, at the time was allied with Ruto. The violent fall-out from the disputed result led to a power-sharing government in which Kibaki was president, Odinga prime minister and Kenyatta one of his deputies. In 2013 the two ICC indictees, Kenyatta and Ruto, joined forces to defeat Odinga in a close and controversial election. Kenyatta won in the first round with a wafer-thin margin of 50.03 percent — a result Odinga disputed, unsuccessfully but peacefully this time, in court. The upcoming vote is a re-run of 2013 except that this time the opposition has united behind Odinga posing a serious challenge to Kenyatta’s ruling Jubilee Party. Opinion polls put the two neck and neck. The election will most likely be the final act in a multi-generational political rivalry stretching back half a century to when Jomo Kenyatta and Odinga’s father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, vied for control of the nation. If he wins, Kenyatta must stand down after one more term and, at 72, Odinga is regarded as too old to make another bid for the presidency in five years time. Both men’s children are still inexperienced in politics

Sweet and sour stories of artistes who dumped their former record labels

The Nigerian music industry is a theatre of drama which ironically keeps it vibrant and interesting. One of such dramas we have seen and will continue to see, is unending squabbles between artistes and their record labels. For some, it is a tale of woes while for others it’s a success story galore. This piece takes a look at the fate of some artistes who have parted ways with their bosom record labels. Is Dbanj losing the Koko? Renowned for his hit songs, Tongolo and Why me, Dapo Oyebanji, popularly known as ‘Dbanj’, was the rave of the moment in the music industry during his stay at Mo’ Hits Records, which he co-owned with the talented beat-maker, Don Jazzy. Prior to his dramatic departure from the label, he topped charts and reigned unstoppable like a rabid dog on rampage but was cut short immediately he parted ways with Don Jazzy. Like flowing water on a sloppy hill, his music career went down the drain like a musical greenhorn who lacked talent and guidance in an industry that doesn’t tolerate mediocre. From Showtime’s investigations, be assured that since his exit from Mo’ Hits, only Emergency has been a hit track out of all the songs he has since released. Agree or not, Dbanj was once rumoured to have been broke to the extent that even after receiving payment for shows both locally and internationally, he would fail to honor the invitation even after acknowledging the receipt of professional fee for his performance. In recent times, there were speculations that he was considering jumping on a musical collaboration with Don Jazzy, which never came to fruition. Even his latest single featuring Wande Coal and Harry Song has not been much of a Hit.

Harrysong living large after Five Star Music storm The most recent of all artiste-label breakups which is still hanging in the balance is that between Harry Song and Five Star Music. Due to prolonged irresolvable differences, the Reggae blues singer decided to go solo, citing a couple of reasons for his departure from the label. Be rest assured that Harry Song’s exit from Five Star Music was timely as he has recorded huge success in his music career ever since. Word on the street is that it seemed like he was limited during his stay at Five Star Music. In his short stay at Altar Plate, Harry has hit pay-dirt with a couple of singles, videos and some healthy collaborations. Chidinma grappling to survive after Capital Hill Chidinma Ekile, winner of MTN Project Fame season 3, has been quite dead musically since her exit from Capital Hill Records. The Kedike crooner did not renew her contract with the label after its expiration in 2015. Till date, both parties chose to keep mum about the affair, after amicably parting ways. There were once rumours that she got signed to Flavour’s 2Nite Entertainment which she denied in an exclusive interview with Thenet.ng. Since her mysterious exit from the Clarence Peters & Ill Bliss led label, she went into hibernation in far away France, where she was rumored to be repackaging herself to rebound into the music industry. After leaving Capital Hills, it became evident that irrespective of her talent, her exit from the label negatively affected her music because since then she has hardly released any reasonable amount of singles nor appeared at industry shows either as a guest artiste or a surprise act. Showtime can confidently affirm that even when she is invited and paid upfront to perform at an event, she hardly shows up for reasons best known to her. Iyanya still finding his feet at MAVIN after MMMG split Iyanya’s decision to leave MMMG came as a shock to most of his fans and music pundits; he left everyone in suspense as to why he parted ways with his ownership rights at the label. Till date, nobody can say what precisely caused his exit from the label as both he and Ubi have since kept mum on the matter. Since his arrival at Mavin Records, compared to what he churned out in quick successions at MMMG, he seems to be on the slow lane.Skales rises above EME times Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, aka Skales, signed on to Baseline Music about 3-years ago, after his mutual exit from BankyW’s EME music. Sometime in 2016, he was arrested and detained alongside his manager, Osagie Osarenkhoe, for allegations of fraud and diversion of funds, leveled against them by the management of Baseline Records, but it was later resolved amicably after much consultations. Earlier this year, he released his 2nd studio album titled ‘The Never Say Never Guy’ under the Baseline Records imprint. We can rightly say that since his departure from EME, his music career has recorded immense success; some say it was because his exit was based on a mutual understanding between himself and his former label boss, BankyW, else his career would have nosedived by now. Runtown shames his former label After series of unresolved differences, ‘Mad over you’ crooner, Runtown, parted ways with his label, Ericmany Entertainment, in May 2017, citing monetary issues, continuous threat to life, gross disrespect from his label boss amongst other things as reasons for his decision to exit the label which groomed him from the scratch. You may recall that the label instigated a court injunction against Runtown sometime ago; restraining him from performing at any show within and outside Nigeria due to unresolved differences between them, but later resolved it. Showtime’s investigation revealed that after his exit from the Okwudili led record label, Runtown has since rebranded himself to align with the present demands of the music industry. His latest singles, Mad over you and For life, have since become national anthems on the lips of both young and old. He has recorded countless local and international performances on big stages, something he could not confidently boast of while with his former label. Lil Kesh as good with YAGI as was with YBNL Popular for his hit songs, Lyrically, Efejoku and Shoki, rapper, Lil Kesh left YBNL Records on a clean slate after the expiration of his two-year contract with the label. With the help of his label boss, Olamide, aka ‘Badoo’, he was able to float his own record label, YAGI, an acronym for ‘Young and Getting It’, instead of renewing his contract with the label. Since then, he has been able to maintain his popularity among fans for the kind of music he churns out. He has also released his debut album which received massive recognition and acceptance, recorded a number of international stage appearances in Canada, London and other countries of the world, award nominations and wins amongst other success stories. Obviously, we could say that parting ways with YBNL was a right step in the right direction. Though some critics argue that the success he has recorded so far since his exit from YBNL is because he has maintained a cordial affinity with his former boss, Olamide, arguing that Lil Kesh is not ripe enough to be on his own. But Showtime’s investigation revealed that contrary to public opinion, Lil Kesh’s continued relationship with YBNL is not based on selfish reasons, but rather because he can’t just separate himself from the label because it houses most of his friends. Ice Prince on downward slide after Choc City? Though the Jos bred rapper’s contract expired with Chocolate City, he decided to remain affiliated to the label for 2-years. Earlier this year he publicly announced the expiration of his contract with Chocolate City and the establishment of his own record label, Super Cool Cats. His exit from Chocolate City came on the heels of a mutual agreement between both parties unlike some others who left under acrimonious circumstances. Has he been faring well since he parted ways with his former label? Yes, even though he may not have recorded so much success since his exit, but unlike some other artistes, he is doing pretty well; at least he is still releasing good songs which are widely received and accepted by his fans. On the contrary, Showtime can confirm that he has not been appearing at industry shows like in the past, which obviously is not a good thing for his career reputation. Saeon bit more than she can chew with Baseline Music Popularly known as Saeon Moruda, but born Oluwaseun Omolara Oni, the all round entertainer shot into limelight after featuring Wizkid on her hit single, Boogie Down, which enjoyed massive airplay on radio stations, in clubs, restaurants and private homes. She got signed on to Baseline Music in 2014 and since then she has released a couple of creative works which have thrived. Unfortunately for the daring singer, she suffered lack of support from the label and when she voiced her dissatisfaction, bad blood began to brew up eventually leading to her acrimonious exit from the label. Showtime’s investigation revealed that since her exit from Baseline Music, her music career has drastically suffered; hardly will you hear any of her songs on air or see her videos on both terrestrial and cable TVs. Has she been spotted at any industry show or event in recent times since her exit from the label? No! The question that needs to be answered now is ‘Where is Saeon?’ Is she still doing music or she has thrown in the towel? Showtime’s efforts to reach the pretty singer proved abortive but feelers from the delectable singer’s camp confirmed that she is in hibernation at the moment but will bounce back to the top anytime soon. Debbie Rise saved by BBNaija? Former Nigeria Idol contestant and Big Brother Naija finalist, Debbie Rise, acrimoniously split ways with her record label, 800 Records, after the management of the label repudiated her deal with them, all because she requested to have a look at a record of the financial investment carried out on behalf of her music career. As if it was divinely destined to happen, the never-say-never Debbie Rise took the bull by the horn, she decided to continue pursuing her music career all on her on own against all odds. Luck recently smiled on her when she got a lifetime opportunity to be part of the recently concluded reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, where she emerged one of the finalists. Since then, she has been smiling to the bank as her career has taken an impressive twist from what it used to be since she left her former label. Was her exit from the label favorable? Sure it was. Adekunle Gold still on easy street as a loner The non conformist singer who recently confirmed his exit from YBNL has been achieving giant strides since his exit; the release of his debut album titled ‘Gold’, spelt a new beginning for the easy going singer whose lifestyle remains a mystery to unravel. He has become a singing sensation in high demand at several industry shows, private parties, etc. In a recent exclusive chat with Showtime, the Orente crooner confirmed that he is no more with YBNL, but debunked rumours that he has now floated his own record label named ‘Gold’. According to Adekunle Gold, he has truly parted ways with YBNL but he doesn’t own a record label neither does he nurture plans to establish one anytime soon. Showtime can confirm to you for free that Adekunle Gold’s performance fee has increased and he seems to be on a rampage of success as he has recorded a landslide of achievements since his exit from YBNL. Baci’s sour story with MMMG continues without them Although verbal agreements formed the basis of the singer’s deal with the Ubi Franklin and Iyanya-led Made Men Music Group, the label failed to officially sign a written contract with him after spending 6-years with them. According to Baci in an exclusive chat with Showtime, it was a two way thing at the time he joined the label; Ubi promised to sign Emma Nyra while Iyanya promised to sign Baci. Obviously, Ubi fulfilled his promise to Emma Nyra but Iyanya failed to officially sign Baci as promised. Vector wriggled through to good times Vector’s affiliation to YSG lasted for about 4-years; during which he was a loyal signee, but trouble began when he registered his displeasure about his career not being on speed dial. He accused the label of a nonchalant disposition towards the growth of his career which went south with the management of the label causing them to turn their backs on him. Things later took a more negative turn for Vector when he took a self-sponsored vacation to the US and returned to his record boss’ fury, claiming he went to the States to sign a new record deal. Some weeks later, he received a VIP invitation letter from the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State to appear at the Area-E Command in Lagos, on the grounds that he breached the contract he signed with YSG, claiming he had engaged external hands to work for him. After much consultation, his father who is a retired police officer waded into the matter and the whole imbroglio was resolved. In spite of the amicable settlement, the whole incident evidently affected his career till a few years later when he was able to wriggle his way out of the mess, and since then he has been doing fine for himself. At least he has won some awards to include the prestigious Headies Award. Burna Boy stays on the line after Aristocrat Records Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy is said to need help because he lacks the winning streak he once had at Aristocrat Records. Investigations revealed that ‘Spaceship’ has not shot him beyond the level he once was at his former label. Word on the streets is that he needs a backing to redeem his music career. But contrary to public opinion, Showtime believes the Soke singer is doing quite well for himself without Aristocrat Records. Even with his snobbish cum nonchalant attitude, he has carved a niche for himself, without industry show appearances and award nominations or wins, he still holds a relevant position in the music industry. Emma Nyra still gasping for breathe after MMMG From her brief but troubled stay at TripleMG, Nyra Nation label boss and singer, Emma Nyra has not enjoyed her full potential in the Nigerian music
