It's another Friday and while we all think of ways to turn up and shut down clubs, Peter Okoye shares this epic throwback photo.

Today is the musical duo, Psquare's birthday and they're both celebrating with old photos of themselves.
One particular shot that however caught our eye is this baby photo of the musical stars. Reminds us of our own childhood too!
By the way, we love their cute snazzy baby shoes.
"Thank God for another year and for Blessing us much more than we deserve‍ happy birthday to us," the shot was captioned.
And they are truly blessed! This year alone saw them withstand a breakup that shook the entertainment industry. But they're back together now and that's all that matters.
Keep shining Psquare!

(Inernational)Trump may appoint daughter as ambassador to Japan

Donald Trump and daughter, Ivanka. Photo: CC
There are concerns in diplomatic circle that the American president-elect, Donald Trump, may appoint his daughter, Ivanka, as ambassador to Japan
Photos of US President-elect Donald Trump’s landmark first talks with a foreign leader show his daughter Ivanka was present, underscoring the family’s influence as he readies to take power.
In the meeting with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the mogul’s Trump Plaza residence, Ivanka — a model-turned-business executive — was seen seated as the group conversed in the opulent reception room.
Media were shut out of the gathering in Manhattan, but images released by the Japanese government also showed Ivanka and her husband, real estate developer and publisher Jared Kushner, standing and chatting with Abe.
Ivanka and Kushner, both 35, have emerged as key advisers to Trump, who shocked the world by beating Democrat Hillary Clinton in the November 8 election.
World leaders have scrambled to establish ties with Trump but Abe was the first to see him in person since the vote which has provoked anxiety over US foreign policy and its commitment to security in Asia.
Abe told reporters afterwards that the encounter convinced him the US president-elect was someone “in whom I can have great confidence”.
“We were able to have a very candid talk over a substantial amount of time. We held it in a very warm atmosphere,” he said. “Without confidence between the two nations, our alliance would never function in the future.”
Also seen standing in one of the photos, amidst the gilt and chandeliers of Trump’s skyscraper, was former general Michael Flynn, who has reportedly been offered the post of national security adviser.
But the presence of Ivanka, in a black-and-white dress and high heels, drew attention in protocol-conscious Japan, particularly after the tabloid press reported Trump planned to appoint her as US ambassador to Tokyo.
“It’s quite unusual to see a family member attending the first encounter between two leaders even if it’s informal,” said Yoshinobu Yamamoto, a professor at the University of Niigata Prefecture,
“It indicates that she would be playing some important role in the Trump administration,” he added.
“But it’s no surprise to see her there as she has already been involved in politics. Anyway, that’s the Trump way.”
Ivanka Trump is a key player in her father’s business empire and has her own fashion label and jewellery line, and active Twitter and Instagram accounts that nourish her brand.
The Tokyo Sports newspaper carried an article headlined “Trump daughter-blonde beauty Ms Ivanka the next ambassador to Japan!?” on its website last Saturday.
It cited unidentified overseas media as having reported before the vote that Trump had secret plans to appoint her ambassador, replacing current envoy Caroline Kennedy who is the daughter of assassinated US president John F. Kennedy.
“I don’t think the possibility that Ivanka would be an ambassador to Japan is zero, but it’s too early to say,” said Yamamoto.

Husband kills wife, self

The Enugu State Police Command on Friday commenced investigations into why one Francis Uzo, 41, had to kill himself after hacking his wife to death in Emene, near Enugu.
The command’s spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, said in a statement in Enugu that the investigations were being handled by the homicide section of the Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department of the command.
“The couple was reported to have been living happily until Wednesday when Francis was alleged to have murdered his 40-year-old wife, Mrs. Ozoemena Uzo.
“Francis was also alleged to have killed himself after the incident,’’ Amaraizu said in the statement.
“It was gathered that on that day at noon, Mr. Uzo had allegedly pounced on his wife over a yet-to-be-established issue and inflicted several degrees of injuries on her. The injuries allegedly brought about serious bleeding.
“She was later rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
“However, the husband of the deceased and alleged murderer was already in a coma and could not talk before the arrival of the police.
“He was promptly rushed to Annunciation Hospital, Emene, for medical attention where he was later confirmed dead,’’ he said.
Amaraizu said that the bodies of the couple had been deposited at the Annunciation Hospital’s mortuary, Emene.

(International)13-year-old student impregnates teacher

Aleaxandar Vera in court
Alexandar Vera, a former Texas teacher who admitted to having sex with her 13-year-old student has pleaded guilty.
She pleaded guilty on Wednesday to aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Vera met the 13-year-old boy who was a student in her 8th grade English class during summer school last summer, according to court documents.
ABC news reports that a sexual relationship developed between the two thereafter.
Vera was an English teacher at Aldine ISD’s Stovall Middle School
Vera claims she and the teen are in love, and she’s been introduced to his family as his girlfriend, court documents state. The boy’s parents reportedly accepted the relationship, including Vera in family gatherings.
Court documents detailed how Vera allegedly became pregnant with the boy’s baby in January, and his family was said to be excited and supportive about the baby.
However, Child Protective Services paid an unexpected visit to the school in February and asked question about their relationship. She reportedly became nervous and terminated the pregnancy.
The boy is currently in foster care.
Vera is expected to be back in court for sentencing in January.

2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Messi magic sparks Argentina, Brazil march on

Lionel Messi produced a magical display to get Argentina'sWorld Cup qualification back on track Tuesday as Brazil notched their sixth consecutive victory to put one foot in the 2018 finals in Russia.
Messi curled home a stunning 30-yard free-kick and set up goals for Lucas Pratto and Angel Di Maria in a 3-0 win over Colombia in San Juan
The victory elevated Argentina into the qualifying places after a disastrous run of results which saw them take just two points from their previous four games.
But the feelgood factor generated by the result was overshadowed by a media boycott imposed by a furious Messi and his Argentina team-mates after the final whistle.
Messi said the Albiceleste's players were incensed by a claim made by an Argentine journalist that forward Ezequiel Lavezzihad been caught smoking marijuana in the camp.
Lavezzi, who was not included on the substitutes bench against Colombia, has angrily denied the claim

"We have made the decision not to talk to the press anymore, obviously you know why," said Messi, who has an often tense relationship with Argentina's media.
"There were a lot of accusations, a lot of disrespect, and the accusations they made against 'Pocho' (Lavezzi) are very serious.
"We know that most of you guys don't play that game of disrespect. We can be criticised if we lose, or win, or if we play well or badly. But this is getting into personal lives. If we don't put a stop to it now, we'll never stop it."

Tuesday's win left Argentina in fifth spot in the 10-team standings, with 19 points from 12 games. The top four sides qualify automatically for thColombia meanwhile slipped to sixth place following the defeat, one point behind Argentina.
While Argentina have made hard work of qualification so far, Brazil appear to be coasting towards Russia.
Only a miraculous sequence of results is likely to deny them an automatic qualifying place following Tuesday's 2-0 win over Peru in Lima.
Manchester City-bound teenager Gabriel Jesus was the hero once more, scoring one goal and laying on another for Renato Augusto to give Brazil a sixth consecutive win under new coach Tite.
The result left Brazil four points clear at the top of the standings with 27 points from 12 games.
In qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup, 28 points was enough to guarantee automatic qualification.
With six games left, Brazil should be safe with something to spare.
In Santiago meanwhile, Chile continued their recovery with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Uruguay.
Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez was the hero, scoring twice for the Chileans in the second half after Eduardo Vargas had cancelled out Edinson Cavani's first-half opener for Uruguay.
Sanchez and Chile had risked the wrath of Arsenal bossArsene Wenger after playing despite injuring a hamstring during training last week.
Wenger had expressed fear Chile had made a "suicidal" decision by playing Sanchez after the injury.
But the in-form striker showed no sign of ill-health with two well-taken goals to seal a crucial three points.
Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo saved a late penalty from Luis Suarez as the two-time Copa America winners hung on for the win.
In other games Tuesday, Bolivia jolted Paraguay with a 1-0 win in La Paz while Venezuela slipped to the bottom of the standings after Ecuador coasted to a 3-0 victory in Quito.
Ecuador are now third in the standings, three points behind second-placed Uruguay.e 2018 finals while the fifth-placed team goes into a play-off with the first-placed team from the Oceania zone.

MMM aka(Money making machine) being probed by EFCC

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, gave this indication in an interview with DAILY POST on the sidelines of a training programme in Port Harcourt.

Uwujaren, however, said the House of Representatives cannot direct the EFCC to investigate what he described as faceless wonder bank like MMM.

He said the anti-graft agency was also watching other online schemes that promise huge returns on investments.

The EFCC spokesman said preliminary investigations have shown that such online schemes thrive in countries that are facing economic recession.

He warned that there was big chance of desperate subscribers on such platforms of losing their investments.

“We can only arrest people based on the evidence that we have. The House made a resolution but the resolution is a public announcement.

“We have always been advising people not to patronize wonder banks because experience over time has shown that their activities are not sustainable.

“If you get involved in it, you will eventually get hurt. What we are currently doing is to sensitize people. We know people want to make quick money as a result of recession through this MMM.

“The unfortunate thing about this MMM is that it is not a Nigerian firm but we are looking at and we will still tell the media whatever we find out,” Uwujaren said.

#QuiloxFight: Oritsefemi swallows pride, apologises to Shina Peller

  • The singer has also said he will take up the hospital bills of the injured bouncer from the incident.
The Friday, November 11, 2016 brawl at Quilox nightclub now looks to be dead and buried.

This is comes after Oritsefemi finally swallowed his pride and apologised to the nightclub for his actions and also offered to take full responsibility for the hospital bills of the injured bouncer, Iliyasu.
His apology comes barely 24 hours after he shared a statement from a hospital bed claiming he’s recovering from internal injuries.
    Read his apology below…
Shina Peller remains my boss, my friend and a brother for life. I know you will never ask any one to mob me. It’s never your fault neither your management team, I’ve chilled with you home and abroad, you are a cool-hearted person.
‘You’ve been good to every one you have come across. I don’t know where this is coming from but have accepted it as a very deep lesson from the almighty ‘amuwa olorun ni’. In any way I have offended you please forgive me and let our relationship remain stronger.

‘For the injured bouncer I will take good responsibility for his health condition and always check on him as so many people have also paid me a visit here in the hospital and also my well-wishers on social media. I thank you guys for forgiving me.
‘Iliasu ‘the injured bouncer’ is also my brother from the same hood ‘Ajegunle city’. I feel his pain also. How I wish he wasn’t the victim he wouldn’t have let any one touch me because I know him to be a very gallant dude ever.
‘My people I’m deeply sorry for all that happened, I promise to be the most gentle human being living on this earth regardless any circumstances. Quilox nite club remain my home, our house, your own Na still your own. Jah love, Thanks.’
Now Let’s tell you about the ‘unlucky’ bouncer that got caught up in the Oritsefemi fight at Quilox nightclub on Friday, November 11, 2016.

The bouncer has been identified simply as Iliyasu, and he was the one that unfortunately took a glass to the eye, suffering a deep cut that was subsequently treated at a hospital that night before they were both taken to the Bar Beach police station.According to Quilox, ‘We did not press charges against the artiste despite his unruly behavior at our establishment, however the bouncer in question has signified his intention to pursue his fundamental human rights due to the grave bodily harm that befell him.’

Manslaughter: Synagogue engineers’ trial resumes

SCOAN church building under construction
The trial of the Registered Trustees of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations headed by Pastor TB Joshua resumed on Thursday before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.
The church is being prosecuted in relation to the death of 116 persons on September 12, 2014 when a six-storey building belonging to the church collapsed in the Ikotun area of Lagos.
While the church is being prosecuted on one count of alleged building without obtaining the approval of the state, the two engineers who supervised the collapsed building, Messrs Oladele Ogundeji and Akinbela Fatiregun, are being prosecuted on 110 counts of manslaughter.
Also joined as defendants in the charge were two construction companies, Hardrock Construction and Engineering Company and Jandy Trust Limited.
The defendants were arraigned by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions on April 19, 2016.
But they pleaded not guilty to the offences.
Their trial resumed on Thursday before Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo, with a prosecution witness, Adebayo Olayinka, a retired operative of the Lagos State Fire Service, alleging that a crowd believed to be members of the church denied firemen on emergency rescue operation immediate access to the accident scene.
Led in evidence by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, Mrs. Idowu Alakija, Olayinka claimed that he had to mix with the crowd to manage to gain access to the site of the collapsed building and assess the situation.
The witness further alleged that it took the intervention of then Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, who visited the place on September 13, before firemen could be given access to commence rescue operation.
When Olayinka was challenged under cross-examination by the lead defence counsel, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), who contended that Fashola did not visit the site of the accident until the third day, the witness maintained that he saw Fashola on the second day.
Asked by Fagbemi whether he was dressed in the Lagos State Fire Service uniform when he visited the scene of the accident, Olayinka said he was dressed in full fire-fighting gear.
The defence counsel, however, pointed out to the witness that he (witness) was captured in a video, which showed otherwise, to which Olayinka replied that he had to remove his uniform to mingle with the crowd in order to gain entrance to conduct a quick survey of the situation.
But in response, Fagbemi said,“My supplication to the court is to look at the demeanour of the witness as to what he said earlier that he was wearing.”
The witness further testified that there was a fire outbreak in the rubble four days after the collapse.
He said, “On the fourth day at about 0855 hours on Monday the 15th, there was a fire incident within the rubble on the premises and we were able to put it out.”
Ruling out the possibility of arson, the witness said his team, after putting out the fire, found trapped cooking gas cylinders, some clothes and irons that could have rubbed against one another to generate hear leading to a fire.
Justice Lawal-Akapo adjourned till December 8, 2016 for continuation of trial.

(Sports)No player’s worth 100 million, says Verratti

Italy midfielder Marco Verratti categorically dismissed the possibility of him leaving Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday and insisted that no player was worth 100 million euros ($108.9 million).
The 24-year-old has regularly been the subject of media reports linking him with a move away from Paris, with Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Juventus all said to be chasing his signature.
“They say that I’m worth 100 million euros? I think no one is worth that much. It’s an exaggerated figure for everybody,” said Verratti, ahead of Saturday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier in Liechtenstein.
“I even think it’s bad to know that you play in a team which spent more than 100 million euros for you. I’m thinking of (Manchester United midfielder Paul) Pogba who, because of this number, must always show he can win a game on his own.
“It’s not normal and I don’t believe to be worth this type of sum,” he repeated.
Verratti has helped PSG to four successive French league titles since joining from hometown club Pescara in 2012, but he said he has no desire to move on just yet.
“I’m flattered by the interest because it means I’ve done good things. But I’m thinking of winning as much as possible with PSG, of getting as far as possible in the Champions League.
“There’s a project in Paris and I feel part of it. I feel like being in a family and that’s why I don’t want to leave.”

Charly boy seeks death penalty for corrupt officials

Charly Boy
Maverick activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, on Thursday, urged that corruption should be made a treasonable offence for it to be adequately tackled.
He made the call during a news conference put together by the “Occupy Unlimited” group, a civil society group that advocates good governance and corruption-free society.
Charly Boy, who is the National Coordinator of the group, said “corrupt leadership has been killing  ordinary Nigerians slowly and steadily over the years.
“It is time to properly define it as ‘murder in disguise’, and treat as treasonable offence against our dear country.
“Over 180 million people are surviving at the mercy of few politicians who have mastered the art of creating division among her own people through religion, ethnicity, corruption, and frivolous issues.”
According to the social activist, death penalty should be introduced for all politically-corrupt persons in Nigeria if the nation really wants to be lifted out of economic hardship.
He noted that countries such as China and Pakistan were striving better because they decided to make corruption a crime that deserved capital punishment.
He advised that the immunity clause in the Nigerian constitution be reviewed, adding that “corruption is hiding under the immunity clause to loot and plunder.”
